On April 4th 2011 The Road Safety Authority introduced Essential Driver Training (EDT). EDT is a compulsory course of 12 one-hour lessons which all learner drivers who received their Learner Permit after 4th April 2011 must complete before applying for their test. Our fully qualified ADI instructors will issue you with an Essential Driver Training Logbook which is required by the RSA. The RSA recommends that these lessons should be completed over a 6 month period. They also recommend that the student takes additional lessons with an Advanced Driving Instructor and if possible with a sponsor (fully licensed driver must have held a license in that category for at least 2 years).

Our online system allows you to book EDT driving lessons at our most competitive rates. When you have booked the first one, you then have the option to arrange your other lessons directly with your instructor or log back into your online account.

Once you have completed your Essential Driver Training (EDT) you should consider booking a pre-test. Our pre-test will give you the best chance of passing, as lack of preparation is the main reason learner drivers fail their driving test. Give yourself the best chance to pass first time by booking our pre-test online. Our Advanced Driving Instructors have a 90% overall pass rate.

We look forward to helping you pass your test.
