Theory Test

The First Step in Learning to Drive

The first step in the process before you can learn to drive is to pass the Driver Theory Test. This is a computerised multi-choice questionnaire costing €45.00 (for the Car Theory Test) which you have to pass in order to apply for your Learner Permit (you must answer at least 35 out of 40 questions correctly). Some of the topics covered are:

  • Rules of the Road
  • Risk perception
  • Eco-driving
  • Hazard awareness
  • Good driving behaviour
